LX Games

RULE BOOK

TYR LX Games is a CrossTraining competition that will take place in Lisbon on October 11, 12, and 13, 2024, at the Municipal Sports Complex of Casal Vistoso, located at R. João da Silva 20, 1900-271 Lisbon.

The organization reserves the right to choose a location within Lisbon and no more than 20 km from the central competition venue. The online phase must be completed by all athletes participating in the individual elite category, except those invited by the organization. Athletes in the TEAMS category will not have an online phase. These athletes, divided into teams of 4 people (3 male athletes and 1 female athlete), will have direct access to the on-site phase, which will take place on October 11, 12, and 13, 2024. The organization reserves the right to grant exceptional authorizations to this format, applying the respective compensation in conjunction with the sports direction and Head Judges. Only athletes and one coach per team/athlete will have access to the warm-up area and recovery zone. The competition area is exclusively for athletes.

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be of legal age on the date the competition takes place. If under the age of majority, must have signed parental or legal guardian authorization and present it to the organization, either in person at the competition or online.
  • By registering, the athlete ACCEPTS the regulations along with the rules for liability waiver and personal data processing.
  • Use the WODBUSTER ARENA registration platform as indicated therein and pay the registration fee, upon confirmation of qualification, which includes admission to the competition.
  • No athlete who is suspended from their sports activity for any reason may participate in the TYR LX Games. If a suspended athlete registers for the tournament, and the organization verifies that they are suspended, they will be expelled from the tournament and will not be entitled to a refund of the registration fee previously paid by said athlete.
  • The organization of TYR LX Games may make necessary modifications in the event of force majeure or other unforeseen circumstances beyond their control that could pose a risk to athletes, spectators, sponsors, or anyone at the venue where TYR LX Games will take place. Any modifications made for this reason cannot be contested by any event participant nor can they request any refund or compensation for the measures taken.
  • Admission rights are reserved.
  • Only athletes and one coach per athlete may access the competition area (warm-up area, athlete zone, and competition areas).
  • TYR LX Games prohibits athletes from using illegal performance-enhancing substances. If it is discovered that an athlete is under the influence or has used any illegal substance during any phase of the competition, TYR LX Games reserves the right to disqualify that athlete from the competition and/or revoke any prize (if any prize awarded by the organization). The athlete will not be entitled to any refund.
  • TYR LX Games complies with the official drug testing policy.
  • Teams, from any category, once they have completed the registration, are allowed 1 change, provided that this change occurs before September 30 and respects the format of 3 male athletes and 1 female athlete. During the on-site phase (October 11, 12, and 13), if any team member gets injured, they may be replaced by another athlete (subject to the new athlete signing an informed consent), but this team will be scored zero points in the remaining WODs until all WODs of the competition are completed.
  • No individual division athlete can transfer or substitute their spot for any reason.
  • Once the registration fee is paid, both for the online qualifications and for access to the finals, it will not be possible to receive a refund, except in the case of event suspension.

2. INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY ATHLETE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Athletes who have qualified according to the number of available spots agreed will enter the on-site phase on October 11, 12, and 13, 2024.
  • Athletes will receive an email notifying them of their admission to the on-site phase. They will then have the period specified by the competition organization to confirm or decline their presence. In the absence of confirmation, the next qualified athlete will automatically have the opportunity to participate in the competition.
  • Confirmation of participation in the event must be accompanied by the payment of the admission fee for the on-site phase.
  • Each elite athlete, once they confirm their attendance at the onsite phase and pay the corresponding fee, will receive a form in which they must provide the organization with their name, surname, ID, and the contact details of the coach who will accompany them to the onsite phase.
  • The event’s social media and website will provide further news and information about updates, briefing sessions, schedule, check-in, orientation, etc.
  • Once registration for the final phase is completed (for those athletes who qualify) and after the payment and questionnaire have been filled out, no modifications will be allowed to the selected t-shirt size, regardless of the reason.

3. TEAM CATEGORY ATHLETE REQUIREMENTS:

  • All teams that have paid the registration fee will move directly to the onsite phase on October 11, 12, and 13, 2024.
  • Athletes will receive an email notifying them of their admission to the onsite phase.
  • Confirmation of participation in the event must be accompanied by the payment of the admission fee for the onsite phase.
  • Along with the confirmation email, the athlete will also receive more information for the onsite phase.
  • The event’s social media and website will then provide more news and information about updates, briefing sessions, schedule, check-in, orientation, etc.
  • Once registration for the final phase is complete and the payment and questionnaire have been filled out, no changes to the selected t-shirt size will be allowed, regardless of the reason. If there is any athlete change in the team, a new t-shirt size cannot be selected; the new athlete must use the t-shirt size initially selected by the replaced athlete.

4. ONLINE PHASE AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Registrations are made through WODBUSTER ARENA. The athlete will be registered for the TYR LX Games once they fill out the mandatory fields in the athlete profile and make the payment.
  • WODBUSTER ARENA will confirm to the athlete that they are officially registered once they finish and complete all the previously mentioned requirements.
  • Registrations will begin on April 1, 2024, and the registration period will close on June 3, 2024. For the team category, the registration phase will end once all available slots in each category are filled.
  • The online phase (elite) will take place between May 16 and June 3. The qualifying WODs will be the same as those of the Open 2024, and it will be mandatory for athletes to upload their video by posting the YouTube link (which can be the same as the Open) in addition to entering their score in WodBuster Arena. The results will be unofficial until the team of judges reviews and validates the video and the result of the WOD.
  • The final classification will be published on June 17, thereby determining the athletes who will advance to the onsite phase.

5. CLAIMS DURING THE ONLINE AND / OR ONSITE PHASES:

  • Claims in the qualifier: Up to 3 days after the publication (insert dates here – until 23:59), the claims will be analyzed over the following three days and responded to directly in WodBuster Arena. However, during the onsite phase, the scoring system will be by tables, with 100 points for the first place and successively for the following positions (always depending on the number of entrants per category).

6. ORGANIZATION CLAUSES:

  • The organization reserves the unquestionable and inalienable right to accept or reject an athlete’s registration. The organization also reserves the exclusive right to validate or invalidate an athlete’s scores.
  • TYR LX Games will be free from doping in this edition and subsequent editions, and athletes who test positive will not only be ineligible for monetary prizes but will also face penalties as determined and will be immediately expelled from the tournament.

7. TERMS OF ADHERENCE:

  • To participate in the event, the athlete confirms through their registration in WODBUSTER ARENA that they fully and completely agree with the rules and guidelines set forth in this Regulation.
  • Once at the onsite phase, they will sign again either onsite or through the channel provided by the competition organization, and minors will add the authorization of their legal guardians.

8. CLASSIFICATION AND SCORING SYSTEM:

  • The classification, both in the online and onsite phases, will be managed and can be consulted in WODBUSTER ARENA.
  • During the online phase, the scoring system will follow the method of reverse order in the classification. One point will be awarded to the first place, two points to the second, and so on.
  • During the online phase, the scoring system will follow a reverse order method in the classification. One point will be awarded to the first place, two points to the second, and so on, so that the athlete with the fewest points will have the highest position in the ranking.
  • In the event of a tie, the first criterion to be considered will be the total number of first places each tied athlete has achieved in the rest of the WODs in the TYR LX Games competition. If the tie persists, the result of the last WOD will be considered, placing ahead in the general classification the athlete who achieved a better position in the last WOD of the TYR LX Games.
  • Thus, during the online phase, the scoring system will be by ranking.
  • However, during the onsite phase, the scoring system will be by tables.

9. COMPLAINTS AND CLAIMS:

  • Online and onsite phases:
  • In either case (online qualifier and/or onsite), the claim must be processed through WodBuster Arena. Within the app/ my competitions / athlete zone / “claims,” they will be able to process them.
  • NO claim that has not been processed through the WodBuster Arena platform will be heard or handled. Athletes will have 30 minutes from when the score of each WOD is published to make such a claim, except in the WOD of the final, which will be 15 minutes. After this time, no claims will be addressed.
  • Claims considered false, unfounded, or made with the intention of affecting the process may lead to the restriction of the ability to make future claims for the involved user, as well as a penalty of -25 points in the overall classification.

10. COACHES:

  • In TYR LX GAMES, the management and handling of coaches will be as follows:
  • Each elite athlete, once they confirm their attendance at the onsite phase and pay the corresponding fee, will send the organization the name, surname, and ID of the coach who will accompany the athlete to the onsite phase.
  • The coach will receive an invitation to attend the onsite phase with the athlete, without having to buy a ticket to enter the TYR LX GAMES venue.
  • The coach will have access to all areas of the competition zone (warm-up area and athlete zone).
  • Only ONE coach per athlete is allowed and it is not transferable, meaning the personal details given for the coach cannot be changed or transferred, being the same coach who must be with the athlete during the event, and no other person can enter as the athlete’s coach.
  • If during the three days of competition the initially registered coach cannot attend, they cannot be replaced by another coach/person. Any change of coach must be made before the start of the onsite phase. The athlete must communicate this via email and must receive confirmation of the coach change from the organization.
  • The organization may request, at any time during the three days of competition, identification from the coaches to verify that the coach with the athlete is the one registered by the athlete at the time of registration. If an athlete enters with another coach who is not the one registered by the organization, and it is someone else impersonating the coach, both the coach and the athlete will be immediately expelled from the tournament, and the athlete will not be able to continue in the competition from that point due to this breach of rules.
  • Coaches will have specific accreditation distinct from the athletes.
  • In the case of teams, only ONE coach per team may access the competition area.

11. CODE OF CONDUCT:

  • All athletes registered in TYR LX GAMES agree to compete sportively and respect the rules, regulations, and guidelines set by any member of the organization and/or staff in each case.
  • Arguing with any member of the organization and/or staff of TYR LX GAMES, or with any athlete, spectator, and sponsor of the event, disrespecting, fighting, insulting, shouting, or any behavior that involves physical and/or psychological aggression, will be grounds for penalty, suspension, disqualification, removal from the event, and/or the taking of legal actions if required.
  • Any action that results in another athlete being unable to compete fairly and on equal terms, or that impedes the communication of the athlete with the judge or any member of the organization, will be considered for a possible penalty, suspension, disqualification, and/or legal measures.
  • If any coach engages in the aforementioned behaviors, it will harm their athlete since the penalty, suspension, or measure taken by the organization will be applied to both, coach and athlete.
  • The event director will ultimately decide the sanction to apply. This decision will be final, and non-acceptance by the coach and/or athlete will result in the involvement of law enforcement to take the necessary measures.
  • The obligation to comply with the code of conduct also applies to any spectator attending TYR LX GAMES, and the sanctions mentioned above may be applied to anyone who fails to adhere to these rules.
